Not only will you get car rental for your 18 year olds in Macau, they get to hire luxury cars as well. Compared to car hire for older customers, those for 18 year olds and below will be hard to get but you will not miss out on a few companies offering that.

It’s allowed in Macau so don’t have any sort of hesitation to book for luxury car hire to your children. They have the right to enjoy same amount of luxury as you do during your visit to Macau. Children not licensed

World over, children are not licensed as drivers so you should be prepared to hire a driver for your child. Since you have insisted on your child driving his/her own car while in Macau, be prepared for the extra cost of paying a driver for the entire period you will be around. For children between 13 and 18 years, there might be none or very minimal restrictions on where they should seat inside the car.

But for those below 12 years, a car rental might restrict such a child from using the front seat. They are supposed to seat at the back for safety reasons. If it’s a toddler, a children’s safety seat has to be fixed in the car. This is not standard in all car rentals in Macau as there are those that have relaxed the regulations and others are very strict. Safety of children is given more importance than that of older customers when hiring a car in Macau. It does not mean that adults are not supposed to be safe but children are treated in a special way. The child will be required to put on the seat belt whenever on the road. Once found to have violated, the parent might be held responsible for that since children can’t be charged in court. Even as you decide to hire a car for an under 18 child, make sure the driver assigned is a responsible one.

Safety remains important

He/she should be a person who understands what it means with child safety otherwise the driver will land you in trouble if not careful with how the child behaves while in the car. Other car rentals insist on a sign being put to show that a child is inside the car. That serves to alert other drivers that they should be careful when approaching your child’s car. Luxury cars are always costly to hire but rentals in Macau tend to lower that in case it’s being hired for a child below 18 years.
